GSD:
A GAS SAFETY DEVICE is a device fixed at the top of your LPG cylinder and a gas regulator is a fixed at the top of this device. GSD prevents all major problems of GAS LEAKAGE, GAS PIPE CUT OFF , GAS SUPPLY and many more problems.
HOW TO READ GSD GAUGE DIAL
Green zone - If the needle of GSD dial is in this area adequate gas supply is indicated.
Red zone - If the needle of GSD dial is in this area , low LPG level is indicated, further to which refilling of cylinder would be required soon.

FEATURES OF GSD
GSD will automatically shut-off the gas supply from the cylinder due to major leakages of gas caused due to :
a) The rupturing of a tube or pulling off the stove or regulator.
b) The regulator failed due to function properly.
c) The tube catching fire.
In most of the cases where hose rapture occurs and if there is insufficient flow due to blockage / restriction , or supply line diameter ( internal diameter ), is too small GSD may not be activated .
Automatic shut off may occur if gas consumption is excessive at low cylinder pressure. However , if shut off continually occurs it is advisable to have the system safely checked immediately by an authorized gas fitter. Do not use the system until the problem has been rectified. In such situations it is also possible that cylinder nay need refilling.
Shut-off is indicated by GSD when dial needle suddenly returns to zero. If shut off occurs , the gas stove controls may be turned to OFF position and procedure for ' HOW TO TEST MINOR LEAKS ' should be repeated. If continuous shut-off occurs, the LPG system would need to be rectified by an Authorized Gas Fitter.
At extreme low temperature and severe winter conditions GSD will shut off gas supply and may not function properly.

HOW TO TEST FOR MINOR LEAKS:
- Keep the GSD knob in on condition and ensure that the burners of the gas stove are in off condition. The gauge dial needle will show pressure information.
- Turn-off the GSD knob and wait for few minutes, if needle of gauge dial drops slowly to zero level ,this indicates that there is leakage in the line between the pressure regulator and the gas stove.
- If the needle remains at the same position there is no leakage in the system.
- The above procedure can be repeated for more confirmation.

:CAUTIONS:
Carry out the minor leak testing each time the LPG is used, particularly when cylinder has been changed/ refilled or when connections have been tampered with.
2. If GSD continually shuts off the gas supply refer to section 'Features of GSD' as mentioned before.
3. Never use GSD without the regulator supplied with your gas connection. Also do not mishandle , tamper with the GSD ( including gauge ) as this will void warranty and may result in malfunctioning there-by leading to accidents.
4.Never use GSD without the regulator as this may bypass the shut off valve mechanism , thereby causing accidents.
5. Never depress the GSD Gauge dial so much , that it allows the gas to flow out thereby - passing the shut off valve mechanism. This could cause an accident .Only depress the Gauge a few times , when the regulator is connected to GSD on one end and to the pipe connected to the gas stove at the other end.
